Ballet

Ballet is a formalised form of dance with its origins in French court, further developed in France and Russia as a concert dance form. It is a highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary and is primarily performed with the accompaiment of classical music.

Ballet has been influential as a form of dance globally and is taught in ballet schools around the world. Each use their own culture and society to modernise the art. It is best known in the form of classical ballet, notable for its techniques, such as pointe work and turn-out of the legs. This style of dance is graceful, flowing, and precise in movement and has ethereal qualities. Ballet dance works are choreographed and also include mime, acting and are set to music.

At the Adele Stitch School of Dance we can offer you Royal Academy of Dance syllabi (RAD) from baby ballet class starting at two and a half, Pre-Primary, Primary Grades 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8 and Intermediate Ballet.

The RAD offers a series of examinations from children's exams through to intermediate grades.

Adult Ballet

We can offer you a fun and fitness in a ballet lesson with no ties. Classes are 'pay as you go', because as a parent myself I know how hard it can be to get childcare!

Dress code is informal (don't worry you don't have to get back in those ballet tights and leotard) wear clothing that is comfortable and allows you to move your body with ease.

Ballet is a great way to tone your body and get back in shape - come along and have a go, you might just like it !!!!
