Tap

Tap dance was developed in the United States during the nineteenth century, and is popular in many parts of the world. The name comes from the tapping sound made when the small metal plates on the dancer's shoes touch a hard surface.

This lively, rhythmic tapping makes the performer not just a dancer, but also a percussive musician.

Apart from being an essential skill for the professional dancer, tap dance is one of the most enjoyable and rhythmic form of recreational dance.

At the Adele Stitch School of Dance we can offer you Imperial Society of Teachers Of Dancing (ISTD) Grades from Primary to Advance 1. The work of the ISTD faculty reflects this by providing extensive syllabi for the amateur market in addition to children's and professional syllabi.

The faculty offers a series of examinations from children's grades through to the advance grades.
